Woot!

So God provides! In the last 3 days I had 2 offers, and 2 that didn't come through, but talk about closure!

So...

I'll be working as a technical manager for their Integrated Space Command and Control (ISC2)
For more information, hit up http://www.lockheedmartin.com/products/isc2/index.html

I start in a few weeks, and I can't wait.

Ron and I

Aren't we cute! The story behind this photo is, we went to a MOPS (mothers of pre-schoolers) dinner. They had professional photographers there that took our picture for free. Didn't it come out good! I'm going to get it framed.

Splish, Splash, Sonja and Sophia taking baths!!

Whats been going on

The last few weeks have been slightly eventful. Ron is still on the job hunt. He has a few promising leads, hopefully he'll have a start date soon with one of them. To pass the time Ron has been baking bread. Very tasty stuff!

Papa goes to school!

Yesterday I went back to school! I learned the days of the week, the months of the year, and how to share with my classmates.

Sonja showed me the ropes, we had a great time!

Interviews going well

I've had a few good interviews, signed one contingency offer (these are offers that depend on certain factors, ie the company gaining the job position) and I have a number of people within the agency trying to jump through their respective HR hoops in order to get me hired (before anyone else does I imagine). So in the end, I may be in a situation where it's not just 'take the first job coming' but choose the best job presented.

Also, as a side note, Network Security people (like me) are weird. I was interviewing with some folks today (good people) who are in net security. We have our own language, we laugh at things I don't think most people would find funny. We're synical, salty, frustrated, but in the end, we are just passionate about what we do. And it's great to meet and talk with people (even if it's supposed to be a high pressure interview, felt more like we were talking over beers) that share the passion that you do. There's hope for crazy security types.

If you haven't heard already

My time (and the team) at the Missile Defense Agency will end on Jan 18th. But no worries! I'm currently interviewing with several great companies, and should be employed by the end of the month.

Everyone (including my wife) have expected me to 'freak out', but I have not. Not that I'm not concerned, or maybe a little stressed, but to completely lose it would be the worse thing for me (or anyone of us that I'm sure will go through this at one time or another). The only way to better yourself is through change, whether that change is initiated by you does not matter. So I see this opportunity to change as a good thing, to improve myself, my family, my life. So don't fear change!

I'll keep everyone posted.

Painted Toes

We all got pretty toes today. Can you guess who's toes Sonja painted?

We Love Our Toby Dog!

Toby is such a good dog. He loved wrestling with us. I can't get over how strong he is! He was almost able to push both of us off of him.

The reason why you aren't getting a card

Its now only 5 days till Christmas, and I'm sorry to say that I haven't sent out any cards yet. I REALLY wanted to get a cute picture of the girls. I tried and failed. Either one wasn't smiling, or they both were and it was out of focus. Then the crankiness set in. Plus, Ron any my self have been having health "issues". Nothing life threatening, but definetly slowing us down. Please accept our apologizes and know you are all thought of, prayed for, and loved this Christmas.

Here is one of the pictures I took, I know it looks ok, but on paper you would wonder if you needed glasses.

Playing!

So we had to wait till 3:00pm before it got warm enough to go out and play (A balmy 25) but we did have fun!

Now for hot chocolate.

Snow!

So, usually folks complain about all the snow we get, but I love it. Sophia had me up at just before 7am this morning, and it was beautiful to see the sun rise above the plains, with everything frosted. When the kids get older, it's going to be ski time! The mountains got about 2-4 feet of fresh powder last night...can't wait!

Some pictures for your enjoyment!

Well...

I did predict a sweep, but I had my crystal ball backwards.

Red Sox simply overpowered us. But like I said to coworkers on Friday, before the all-star break the Rockies were minor league...I think the SkySox in town here were hitting better. So to have the honor of losing to the Sox in a World Series was good enough for me.

Now go to bed...you crazies.
